On October 10th 2019, Desh Foundation UK presented the 3rd successful British Bangladeshi Business Awards at the New Bingley Hall in Birmingham. The prestigious awards ceremony was attended by dignitaries from the UK and abroad. Chief guest Mr Nurul Majid Mahmud MP, the Minister Of Industries for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Valerie Vaz MP the Shadow Leader of the House, Andy Street Executive Mayor of the West Midlands, a representative of the Prime Minister, Mike Wood MP, Sir Alan Meale, the High Commissioner, Dr Phil Bennion MEP, senior representatives from the British Army, business and community leaders from across the UK, several mayors from across the country, entrepreneurs, CEO and chairmen of various media outlets and well wishers of the BBB Awards as well as other dignitaries attended the event.
The evening was graced by around 1000 guests who all thoroughly enjoyed the event and the excellence entertainment and tentanising food. More than 150 nominations have been overwhelmingly received. The BBB Awards has become recognised not just in Britain, but also worldwide and the event is marked as a key event in the British Bangladeshi calendar. The first ever BBB Awards was held in 2015 and the ceremony was attended by then Prime Minister David Cameron. The event celebrated the success of British Bangladeshi Businesses and individuals who have contributed so much to this country. The wonderful evening was hailed a success by “celebrating the best of British Bangladeshis”.
