We are proud to announce the 10th anniversary of Desh Foundation UK and the 3rd British Bangladeshi Business Awards (BBBAwards) to be celebrated on Thursday 10th October 2019. This year the event will be held in the historical New Bingley Hall in the heart of Birmingham. Desh Foundation UK had to work extremely hard this year due to the fact it’s 10 years and we wanted to make it very special! Again, we have searched all over the UK to find the best of British Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, individuals and businesses for their contribution to the UK and Bangladesh.

As you know, Desh Foundation UK has always aspired to promote businesses and individuals from our community locally, nationally and internationally recognising them for the good work they do in their own respective sectors. Having an established reach within the community we have always been committed in building the bridge between business and community. Our work has enabled businesses to improve their trade, expand and gain exposure and the community benefiting by using their services, products and gaining awareness of what is out there to help and benefit them.

Since Desh Foundation UK was established we have successfully supported and recognised hundreds of businesses and thousands of people. In our past 2 BBBAwards alone we have had over six thousand attendees. Our followers will know we have received great recognition for our achievements from important VIP’s and significant dignitaries from UK and abroad.

Former Prime Minister David Cameron came to the very first ever BBBAwards in 2015 and spoke highly of our work and signified his support. His presence at the awards ceremony put our organisation on the map and we received excellent mainstream media coverage on TV by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) and in various other platforms. In recognition of our organisation he stated at the event;

“It is hard to believe this is the first ever British Bangladeshi Business Awards considering there are over half a million people of Bangladeshi heritage in Britain today, considering the huge impact the Bangladeshi community have on the British economy.”

We cannot forget the fact British Bangladeshis make a huge contribution in trade especially in Bangladesh. Desh Foundation UK have had the pleasure of consulting to many UK businesses that have established themselves in Bangladesh and many of them tell us “We have been the driving force to their success” which is very gratifying to know.

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, wrote to us with her heartfelt wishes and thanked us for all our hard work, she stated;

“I am glad to know that the first BBBAwards was a tremendous success and I congratulate Desh Foundation UK in putting together such a splendid event for the British Bangladeshi voice to be heard.”

In 2017 Desh Foundation UK received personal acknowledgement from The RT Hon Theresa May, Prime Minister, UK. She expressed her gratitude and recognised the doors we open for our community and The Prime Minister stated on her message;

“This is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the achievements of British Bangladeshi Businesses and mark their significant contribution to the UK economy.”

Desh Foundation UK are extremely grateful for all the support received in the past decade from business, organisations and our sponsors in UK and abroad. A great big thank you! To our community who have followed us, trusted us and helped us to grow into a huge success. We are looking forward to an exciting and extravagant evening and we are certain everyone involved will witness the 3rd BBBAwards to be exceptionally memorable.
